This was totally awesome, in my opinion! I kept it vegetarian because I wanted to try the base recipe before adding meat. Next time, I'll definitely do chicken and probably shrimp, too. Like someone mentioned, I added some sesame oil, right before frying the egg. It called for a second tablespoon of olive oil; I did 2 teaspoons olive and 1 teaspoon sesame. Thanks so much, Tish. This is wonderful! We'll definitely do this one again.

Tish- this is a great idea! I took a short cut and used boxed Uncle Ben's Oriental Fried Rice prepared as directed and mixed with some left over white rice that I had since some boxed foods contain to much salt for my liking. While the rice was cooking, I tossed in some frozen peas, diced carrots, and a little chopped celery for homemade taste. In another pan I cooked up the diced onion, diced chicken, diced lunch meat ham, and scrambled the eggs. When done, mixed everything together. It was really good and from the freezer it was great too, no funny taste. I'm only sorry that I didn't have enough storage containers to freeze more. You probably noticed already, the only thing I was missing in was combo fried rice was SHRIMP! Next time

Oh Tish this has been helpful. I made the recipe and frozen half in 4 c. serving containers. It was great the first night and next day..but what came out of the freezer was so good. All i added was a little water mixed with soy sauce. add to the wok and perfect. Its a keeper and Im going to make it again sunday. Thanks great recipe.

I love fried rice! Can't wait to try this recipe. A few dashes of Sesame oil would give it that 'oriental' flavor. Andre!

Pretty good. Very easy to make. Didn't come out quite as "fried" as I expect fried rice to be, so next time I will put it in a bigger wok and fry more before adding other ingredients. But, good recipe nonetheless!
