"Came up with this after looking at several other recipes. Chicken was tender and quite tasty."

directions

  • In small bowl, mix olive oil, honey, mustard*, orange marmalade, paprika, pepper flakes, garlic and stock. If you want, use a hand blender to get all the ingredients combined well. Set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. If breasts are big, cut in half horizontally. Season flour with salt and pepper, and dredge chicken in flour. Fry in pan about 2-3 minutes each side.
  • Pour sauce around chicken and cover. Lower heat to medium and simmer for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove chicken to plate and pour sauce over top and serve.
  • *NOTE* I used a mustard called Bone Suckin' Sweet Hot Mustard which I bought at a local kitchenware store (Lakeland Ltd.) here in the UK. It contains ingredients such as molasses, brown sugar and jalapeno peppers. You can use a similar type of mustard if you can find one or just use dijon. However, I think that a bold flavored mustard like the one I used is what really brought this dish together. If you try this recipe and review it, please let others know what type of mustard you used.

  1. The first time I made this, I made it exactly as the recipe called, using jalapeno mustard. We thought it was great. I was ready to make it today and did not have orange marmalade so I used dijon mustard and jalapeno jelly. Absolutely awesome! My husband kept dipping the sauce out and finished every last drop! I will do it that way again.

  2. Hi! I'm new here and this is the first recipe I tried from Recipezaar! I used hot mustard and it was really savory, however I do think the flavors would have been more bold with a better mustard. But I still enjoyed it and my family did as well. I like the sweetness. I didnt have paprika so not sure if that affected anything. Thanks for the recipe!! :)

  3. I followed this recipe exactly using "inglehoffer" sweet hot mustard. The recipe is simply delicious. I served it with baked potato and steamed asparagus. Perfect Dinner!!!! Thanks

  4. I really enjoyed this. My one son also agreed. But my other son and my fiance didn't really go for it. They don't really count though as they are super picky. I really liked the idea of this recipe and will make it again. Although I think I will try cooking it in a pan in the oven instead of on the stovetop. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Oh yum, yum! This made my day as this was so delicious to enjoy as a light dinner for a quick family meal during the week, or for us, a quick wonderful Saturday supper. Really easy to throw together, all ingredients on hand. I followed this exactly and since we had a ton of people here worked out to be the best food to nourish as any we have tried. I kinda halved the chicken breasts ~ dredged them in the flour, (perfect) and followed the recipe precisely. All the ingredients combined perfectly. Will absolutely make this often. Great, CulinaryQueen.....Thanks!

Some of my pet peeves are bad hygiene, rudeness, bad manners, laziness and people who litter. My favorite cookbook is my Betty Crocker Cookybook. I've had a copy since I was about 12 and it was falling apart. My brother got me a new copy a couple of years ago from ebay and it was a FIRST EDITION and was in excellent condition. Now that I'm here in England, I find myself collecting more cookbooks. I'm going to need another room just for them if I don't cut down a bit! <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/untitled.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/200_artistrichardneuman-art-prints_.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"><img src=http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p241/CulinaryQueen/samethingsticker.jpg> <img src="http://www.recipezaar.com/members/home/1535/CLC1.gif"><img src=http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p241/CulinaryQueen/RegSwap1-1.jpg> <img src="http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e347/Saturn6666/KiwiDutch/3chefstag1.jpg"><img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f249/Dreamgoddess555/Narrow1-1.jpg"><img src="http://www.pickle.com/plink/ph/795B07337A4704307B51032E7D5E0237795A1C512307476E143E5A652E076C34725B06357F500533140741682C4659712C.jpg" border="0" alt="adoptatagparticipant" title="Photo and Video Sharing"/> <img src=http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/DUCHESS13/cookbookswap.jpg> <img src="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/carolinamoon21/Drink-Challenge.jpg"> <img src=http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p241/CulinaryQueen/DrinkChallenge.jpg> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/Adopted1smp.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/smPACp.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"> <img src="http://www.tinycounter.com" target="_blank" title="web site hit counter"><img border="0" alt="web site hit counter" src="http://mycounter.tinycounter.com/index.php?user=CulinaryQueen"></a>
