great recipe and easy...i sauteed the mushrooms in a little butter and used chicken broth instead of water...for the rest, per the instructions...tasty comfort food .
I made this without the mushrooms and it turned out great! thanks for sharing!
I made this for dinner a couple of nights ago and have had the leftovers for lunch. 18 yo DS, who is very picky eater, loved this casserole. I did make a few changes, based on what I had on hand, no mushrooms so subbed cream of mushroom soup and probably added more than stated amount of the onions (love those), but otherwise made as written. DS has requested I make this again for dinner, so it will be a repeat. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
I thought this was fantastic. I made a couple of changes though. I used chicken broth instead of water, and a little more of it, and for the rice I used a box of uncle ben's country inn chicken rice with the seasoning mixed in. I also didn't cover and it was perfect and super easy!!
I have loved this recipe for a long time. I have made it just as printed, but also have used dry onion soup mix on top, instead of French-fried onions... and have added shrooms and/or green onions... I like to double the rice (and add about 5 minutes, without covering. Always a rave. :)
We love this recipe! It's a regular in our rotation. I use cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup...whatever is on hand. I don't add the addition mushrooms either, but it's still great. We use medium grain rice so it gets nice and crunchy at the bottom and on the edges. Perfect! Thanks for posting.
Very Good!! Easy to make, smelled wonderful while cooking. I used what I had on hand, just cream of chicken soup, no broccoli, delicious anyway! Thanks for sharing.
I left this recipe out for husband to make for dinner. Let me tell you DELISH...We loved it, I hightly recommend it. Comfort food..
Made this tonight with Cream of Chicken and Mushroom soup and boneless chicken breasts. So good and so easy. I liked the addition of the fried onions.
I doubled this recipe for a potluck and it was a hit! Very tasty and so easy. The rice came out perfect even at 7100 ft elevation. Tonight I'm making it just for my family. I also baked it uncovered.
