I got this recipe off a package of Bordens shredded cheddar cheese and thought I'd give them a try. They're really good and make a quick lunch or dinner.
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- cayenne pepper
- salt & pepper
- oil (for frying)
- cheese (optional)
- tomatoes (optional)
- Combine chicken, cheese, egg, mayo cayenne, salt& pepper; mix well.
- Shape into 6 patties; coat both sides with bread crumbs.
- Cook patties in oil in skillet until brown.
- Serve on buns with additional cheese and tomato slices if desired.
thank you so much for posting this recipe...i had made it once before, but could no longer find the recipe clipped from the back of the cheese. These are so moist and make a very good, quick supper!
Tese were good! I used ground turkey instead of ground chicken since I had that on hand. I don't think there is much taste difference between the two when they are ground. The meat mixture is very moist. I wasn't sure if they would hold up very well during the frying process but they fried up just fine. My neighbors and I had these for dinner and all of us enjoyed them. We put a slice of cheese on the patties. These are nice and moist. They were quick and easy to fix. They came out nice and moist. I will be making these again. Thanks for a great recipe Pat.
