This is a Lancaster County version of Chicken & Biscuits/Dumplings. It's very tasty, quick & easy. ENJOY!

Very quick and very easy to make. I did cut the biscuits in eighths and cooked them in individual soup turreens (made 5 in all). Was a bit bland. Needs spices.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 teaspoons flour
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 12 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups cooked cubed chicken
  • 1 cup peas, cooked
  • 1 cup carrot, cooked (you may substitute 1 small pkg. frozen peas & carrots if you wish, cooked)
  • 1 package biscuit

Directions

  1. Saute onion in butter.
  2. Blend in flour& salt.
  3. Add broth.
  4. Cook& stir until thickened.
  5. Add chicken& vegetables.
  6. Heat until bubbling.
  7. Pour into casserole dish.
  8. Cut biscuits into fourths, and place on top of casserole.
  9. Bake at 425 for 8-10 minutes.
