Chewy Brownie Cookies

"Fudgy, double chocolate chip cookies. Sure to cure a chocolate craving. Great with a glass of milk."

• Yields: 3 Dozen

ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon water
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs
• 1 1⁄2 cups flour
• 1⁄3 cup cocoa
• 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups chocolate chips or 2 cups nuts

directions

1. Cream shortening, sugar, water and vanilla.
2. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
4. Stir in nuts or chocolate chips.
5. Bake cookies 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool 2 minutes then remove from cookie sheet.
