I tried this recipe last night and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I love chewy brownies and typically the corners are the only part I truly enjoy. This recipe allows me to eat the entire pan (almost) without having to fight for a corner! I did make one change only because I ran out of white sugar. I substituted approx. 1/2 cup brown sugar to get the full two cups. I also baked about 5 minutes longer, but I think that was due to cooking on the top most rack of my oven, since my oven tends to burn on the lower racks. Amazing recipe!! My husband has claimed it better then box(his previous favorite) and requests them to be made often!! Thanks!!!
Follow this recipe to a "T" and you will reap the benefits of having just what it states "Chewiest Brownies". Thank you so much for sharing this recipe...now my search is finally over=)!
I don't know if it's missing something but I followed the recipe exactly and the texture seems off to me. I also used 1 1/2 cups of white sugar and a 1/2 cup of brown sugar. They almost taste a little chalky. Other than the texture they're pretty tasty.
This is it. The recipe I've been looking for. Not that I followed it...but still. I had to get rid of about 3/4c. of milk chocolate I had so used that + 1/2c. cocoa powder + 3/4 stick butter melted over double boiler and followed the rest of the recipe as written(except for using only 1 1/4 c. sugar- since milk chocolate was sweet already). I did over-bake them a little but they still came out great. Very dense, chewy yet not raw. It seems like with other recipes that proclaim chewiness really come out undercooked/sticky/gooey. These were CHEWY--my favorite flavor. I'm a texture girl, and chewy is my favorite. These definitely fit the bill.
