This is a healthy cherry version of oatmeal...frankly, I am a fan!

Directions

  1. Put water, oats, salt and cherries into a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes for Old Fashioned Oats, or 1 minute for Quick Cooking Oats. Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and cherry jam. Put into serving bowls and pour 2 tablespoons of milk over each bowl. Personally, I add the flaxseed for an extra oomph!

I am a fan of this, too. :) It is such a great way to start your day, very creamy and satisfying. I really enjoyed the addition of flax seeds.

LOVE this! I acctually tried this ages ago (I found it on the Food Network site). It might just be my favorite way to have oatmeal. Thanks for posting!
