Cherry Spiced Cider

I was gonna cut the recipe in half since there were just 2 of us, but then decided to go whole-hog & make it all, using some the next day, cold, as a base for smoothies (& those were very nice, too)! Will definitely keep this one in mind when the end-of-year holidays come around again, but even now it is a very comforting drink on a cold night! Thanks for sharing the recipe!   1. Put apple cider, orange juice, maraschino cherry juice, cinnamon sticks, orange peel, cloves and allspice in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes. Strain out cinnamon sticks, orange peel. cloves and allspice. (Can be prepared in advance and reheated in crock pot).
  2. Place 2 maraschino cherries and 1 orange slice half in each of six mugs. Pour about 2/3 cup spiced cider over cherries. Serve warm.
