Cherries combined with brandy makes a great sauce for vanilla ice cream or maybe your favorite cheesecake.

  1. In a saucepan combine the cherries, the sugar and 1 1/2 cups water and simmer for 10 minutes or until the liquid is reduced to 1 cup.
  2. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and add it to the cherry mixture, and simmer the mixture, stirring, for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the brandy and stir it in.
  4. Chill.
