My mother used to make this and it looked interesting. Make it in the spring when the cherries are ripe and serve it the following winter.


  1. Mix cherries, sugar, and bourbon in a glass 1 gallon jar.
  2. Keep in a cool, dark place.
  3. Shake once a week.
  4. Serve chilled at Christmas time.
