This was a smash hit at a birthday party this weekend! I skipped the whipped cream, because it was plenty creamy with the ice cream. I chose not to strain the puree, because we enjoyed the bits of cherry. I used natural vanilla bean ice cream, and it was perfect. Thanks, Lainey!

Great recipe! Tried it with the "Cool Whip" instead of making my own whipped cream. Still great! Cut back on the lime juice and tried it with frozen strawberries, too and BOY what a taste! Used the vanilla ice cream instead of the vanilla cherry. Wonder what other berries we can use????

This was very tasty. The lime juice was a little strong for my personal tastes, but it sure was fun to make out own soda- and the cerry was great with the ice cream! Thanks for posting!

OUTSTANDING! This is the BEST ice cream drink I have ever had! WOW! I made 2 servings which filled a large glass full of YUMMINESS. I stirred the seltzer water right into the pureed cherries in the blender. I used extra seltzer water because it was a bit thick. I also used extra ice cream. I used canned whipped cream. Made this way it is easy and I will be repeating it all summer long. Thanks for this keeper recipe! Made for Holiday Tag.

Made for PAC, Spring 07 ~ No, no, no! You don't "Scoop the ice cream into small glasses." What you do is scoop the ice cream into LARGE glasses & make 3-4 servings of the VERY, VERY tasty cherry soda! What a great & easy-to-make drink, & just in time for the 'warmer' weather here in the high desert of Southern California! Thanks so much to a great adopted daughter for sharing this one!
