This chicken salad has lots of different flavors and textures that work well together. I thought I had a package of dried cherries in the pantry, actually is was dried cranberries, but they were good. I loved the crunch of the apple, celery and almonds. This recipe is a winner!
A wonderful chicken salad. I especially like that it has dried cherries because tart fresh or dried cherries are good for people with gout. It is also easier to keep on hand instead of the grapes that most people put into their chicken salad. Thanks Nimz...you are a very good chef! Yum, really enjoyed this. My celery had gone rubbery, so I omitted it. I served on orowheat sandwhich thins and with Sam's Caprese Salad. Tasty and satisfying!
This is excellent! I love the tartness from the cherries. I used the white meat from one of those already roasted chickens from the supermarket. The only change I made was to leave out the celery. This is great right after making it so I'm sure it will be even better after melding together. Thanks so much for the recipe!
well I could have sworn that I had dried cherries in my pantry but it was dried cranberries so that is what I used in place of the cherries, also I used cooked chopped turkey in place of chicken as I had some in my freezer waiting to be used up, with a few changes this was still wonderful and I will make again soon, oops forgot to mention I added in 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder to the mayo/lemon mixture, thanks for sharing Nimzie!
It is nice to make this recipe as a change from my usual chicken salad! Enjoyed the cherries & almonds in this one! I did, however, use lemon pepper instead of the S&P listed! A recipe well worth keeping around! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Please Review My Recipe]
