Made w/all cherries (fresh, on the over-ripe side), otherwise just as the recipe states. It was great. Not too sweet. You could taste the tartness of the fresh fruit. Will make again, for sure. Thanks, KelBel!
I had some bing cherries that had gotten too ripe to eat, and thought this would be a good way to use them up. It was excellent! Definitely sweet enough for our gang, but probably helped to have the berries extra ripe. Great summer time healthy dessert.
I made this for a 4th of July get-together and it was a hit. I used fresh blueberries and raspberries but had to use frozen cherries. I served this with ice cream with the crisp slightly warm from the oven. Nothing was left. I'll definitely be doing this one again. Thanks KelBel!
What's not to like? This is a great flavor combination with a not-too-sweet topping. I added some cinnamon and allspice to the berry mixture. Thanks for posting!
WOW, I wish there were more than 5 stars for this one. It's simple to make and the taste is fabulous! I used frozen mixed berries and dried cherries, added 1/2 a tsp of cinnamon to the berry mix. I made a half recipe and wish I had made the full amount. It's something I would serve to company (everyone is going to love this) or just have with a homey meal for DH and I. I served it at room temp as I made it early in the day but a few seconds in the microwave would do the job of helping it melt the ice cream if you use it. I used plain Splenda in the berry mix and 1 Tbsp Splenda Brown Sugar in the topping and it was just right in sweetness for me. The berry tang came through complimented by the sweetness of the cherries. I can't wait to make this again.
