I left out the cayenne and still thought it was too peppery. I thought my family would love it because we are cheese addicts, but no one really liked it. Just OK for us. Turned out greasy and the pepper was too much for our toddler. People who like spicy foods probably would like this more than we did.

Just Okay, I thought it would be cheesier with all the cheese in the recipe. Made a lot, we are a family of 3 and nobody had seconds. Hope it freezes okay!

YUM! I decided not to bake this, both because I prefer stove top mac and cheese and because I was running short on time, and it turned out delicious. The flavor is very nice and more complex that the usual mac and cheese, especially with a nice aged cheddar. I also took a cue from CulinaryExplorer's pic and added some peas, which turned out to be an excellent addition. Thank you for posting!

My whole family loved. I followed the recipe to a T and we gobbled it up. Barely had leftovers for lunch the next day. Awesome.

It was okay - but the kids didn't like it. I didn't care for the garlic in it and I think if I make it again I will not use as much cheese and leave the garlic out.

This was a little spicy for my kidlets. If I was going to make it again, I would cut the peppers in half and add peas as per photo (I forgot!) However, after baking it the sauce broke down a bit and was acutally a little pasty for some reason. I am not sure why that happened but it tasted better and would have been fine to eat with out the baking time. The sauce was really thick and good.

Pretty good. I will a different ham next time as I used Black Forest this time and was not impressed. I thought the sauce was thicker then necessary but I might just cut back on the amount of pasta used next time. DH liked it a lot so that's a plus 'cause he's not a big mac/cheese fan. Will make this one again for sure.

We thought this was pretty good, though it wasn't quite 5 stars for us. I did half the recipe and used wheat penne, as well as fat free half and half. I also used the parmesan from the green container to use it up and I know it would be better with fresh. I used deli ham cut really thick and then cubed which was good for this. I did only end up cooking it 30 minutes before it started to really brown so I took it out so as not to burn the edges. I also added some steamed peas to my own plate and it was a nice addition. I just wish it was a bit lower calorie lol.

I halved the recipe and it turned out great. I really liked the flavor of the cheese sauce - it was different than my usual mac & cheese. I think it was the seasoning salt and garlic that made it so tasty. It was a nice change. I'll be making it again.

Was looking for a way to use up leftover ham from Christmas Kittencal and stumbled upon this recipe. It was wonderful ! We loved it !! I did use the half cream and half milk and added a little extra parmesan cheese to the top. Like a fantastic mac and cheese with a ham suprise ! Love your recipes girl !

A fantastic way to use some of our leftover Christmas ham. I opted for milk in place of the half n half and still got a very rich creamy dish. This got the thumbs up with my family.

Absolutely wonderful. Oh so very rich, cheesy and creamy. Thank heavens I don't usually have alot of ham leftover, because my cholesterol level would be out of the ballpark! This tastes so much more complicated than it is. It is definitely kicked up mac-n-cheese. The garlicy cheesy sauce sets this heads above all others. A definite repeat in our house.
