Cheesy Chili Dog Casserole

Never made these, but it sounded so easy! It really sound quite good too 8)

• Prep Time: 5 mins
• Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients:

Servings: 6

• 12 hot dogs
• cheese slice
• 1 (15 ounce) can chili hot beans
• 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
• 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
• 1/4 teaspoon cumin
• red cayenne pepper, to taste

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°.
2. Cut three 1/2-inch diagonal slits into each hot dog.
3. Cut cheese into 36 strips.
4. Insert a cheese strip in each slit of hot dogs.
5. In a ungreased 11-1/2 x 7 1/2 baking dish mix beans, tomato sauce and seasonings.
6. Place the hot dogs over the bean mixture.
7. Bake 20-25 minutes.
8. (You may serve the hot dogs on buns with chili mixture spooned on top).

Made this for lunch today and the kids just loved it. I was worried that it would be to runny with 8 ounces of tomato sauce but after baking for 30 minutes it came out perfect. Looking back as I type this I think some onions on top of mine would have tasted wonderful! Made for *Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup Game * 2008
