I also added almond extract to this topping. Came out great! This topping does add a few minutes baking time to my favorite brownie recipe.
I've made this twice in the past two weeks, both times to rave reviews. The first time -- in honor of St. Pat's Day -- I tinted it by adding a drop or two of green food coloring, and it made a *very* pretty contrast to the dark chocolate brownies (and would be great when paired with mint-flavored brownies!). The second time, I kept it plain, but added about 1/8 teaspoon of almond extract to the topping to further bring out the nutty flavor of that batch of brownies. Again, fantastic! My fiance and our roomie both love cream cheese, so this has become our new favorite brownie topping. It's heavenly paired with "Whatever Floats Your Boat" Brownies! -- really decadent and yummy! Thanks for sharing!
This topping was a great addition to my brownies Harley! We really liked the added touch. My grandchildren were picking off the topping with their finger and licking it saying, "MMMMMMMMmmmm, good na na"! I guess that says it all!
So Simple & So Good! Thanks for the great recipe! Tip for cutting brownies-use a plastic knife!
This recipe was a great addition to the brownies I made over the weekend. Will definately be making these again in the future! Thanks for posting the recipe.
A nice way to dress up ordinary brownies. Took to a friend's house for dessert. To me, this screams for a strawberry-ish topping - may do that next time.
