  1. I loved this recipe, so easy and delicious! I typically use left over tomato/meat sauce I have made for spagetti and reheat a little, so basically it's like 3 ingredients, sauce, bun, and cheese....plus any 'burger' toppings anyone might want. Super idea!

  2. This is a recipe similar to one my mom made when I was a kid and we loved it. We used tomato paste (small can vs tomato sauce), added olives, black, green or both and topped with a slice of tomato under the cheese. Very good, now that I came across this recipe its on my menu for next week! Thanks

  3. Made this tonight following the recipe to a tee. It was a little on the salty side. Either from too much actual salt, canned soup , or the velveeta . Anyways turned out fine and the kids liked it. Since its warm outside I made it on the grill instead of using the oven.

  4. My husband and one of my boys loved it and the other son hated it. I think he hated it because he hates anything tomatoey. (If that makes sense) I will make this again. On my own I might add some mushrooms to it. Thanks!

  5. This was okay. I loved how easy and quick it was to prepare, but my family said they preferred the tangier flavor of homemade sloppy joes. My favorite part of this recipe was how the sandwich was put together and served. I guess we aren't a fan of canned tomato soup mixed with ground beef and little else...kind of bland and boring. A note of caution, let this sandwich cool for a bit before biting into it. When this comes out of the oven, the filling is volcanic!

Tweaks

  1. This was an interesting recipe to try. I left out the onions but added onion powder to the soup. I then used provolone instead of velveeta. I will definitely used the velveeta next time.

  2. My entire family LOVED this for dinner. I had to make two and it's a good thing I did. I did not have any Velveeta so I used 8 ounces of Kraft Singles and I also used ground turkey in place of the beef. This is one of the best things I have made lately, and what is even more of a surprise is the fact that it tastes delicious the next day COLD!! I will be making this very often, thank you.

  3. Mmmmmm Mmmmmm! Delicious! I made this for supper as part of your cook-a-thon and we really enjoyed it. I used a multigrain bread instead of french bread. I had some leftover mushrooms that I added to my piece (I'm the only one who likes them) and it was my own personal mushroom topped cheeseburger. Thanks for sharing this recipe and get better soon :)
