  1. I was looking for a recipe with things on hand and came across this one. Reading the reviews, I added a small onion, 1 Tbl minced garlic and salt/pepper to the beef mixture. Once I combined the rice (instant brown rice) and cheese, I also added 3 dashes of hot sauce (Frank's Red Hot). It turned out GREAT! perfect cheeseburger type flavor and the hot sauce added spice with no heat. I will add another 1/4 cup water for the rice next round due to the extra additions. Great recipe! quick, easy and tasty. Thanks!!

  2. I give this 5 stars on ease and quickness, but only 3 stars on flavor. It needed something extra for us, but I'm not sure what. I added a little extra ketchup. Maybe garlic or worcestershire? Leftovers may taste better. I would fix it again in a pinch to get dinner on the table quick, with ingredients I always have on hand. Thanks for posting.

  3. I loved the way it turned out! The benefits of a recipe like this are: it's quick/easy, made with ingredients you almost always have on hand (so it's convenient), it is a mixture of elements that I wouldn't think to combine (so, it's not the same ole, same ole), and it tastes great! Good way to entertain the family on a whim and out-do yourself while not seeming like you cut corners in the process. Good stuff!

  4. This is a delicious one-pan wonder. I eyeballed the ketchup and mustard. It turned out great. For anyone that thinks it is too bland, I recommend making it as listed and then after step 6, tasting, if too bland add more mustard and ketchup to taste. They get cooked in and lose some flavor but adding fresh without cooking adds good flavor at the end. My husband ate it with white bread, I ate mine with corn and green beans and some buttered bread. You could really add a can of green beans right to the end I think, and make a real one-pot dinner. My 2 year old hear "cheeseburger" and had to have his on a bun with more ketchup. Really a good, easy dish for a family.

  5. Being a single mom of a 19 month old, who works full time, now days I look for things that are easy, quick and my son will eat. This tasty recipe fits the bill on all these counts. I made the recipe as stated, but I eyeballed the measurements and it turned out beautifully. My son and I both that you for posting this recipe.
