My DH taught me this recipe. He made it up when he was younger. Again, very easy and tasty! We serve it over garden peas, but it is also delicious over baked potatoes or just about anything you would like to try it on. You can adjust the cheesiness of it by adding more or less cheese.
- 1⁄2 package dry onion soup mix
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- cheddar cheese, diced
- Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan.
- Heat till cheese is melted.
- Serve over garden peas, baked or mashed potatoes or meats.
Mmm this was really yummy! i added about 1.5 cups of cheese and 1/4c of milk
I made this to go over some cooked cauliflower last night and it was so easy and such a nice change from typical Velveeta cheese sauce, which is what I always use. I used recipe #3513 for the Onion Soup Mix. We like our sauce extra cheesey, so I used quite a bit of cheese (should have measured). This was delicious and we will be making this again! Thanks!
wow, this was a really creative recipe! one thing, the cheese sauce was way too thick so i added some milk and it still turned out awesome! thanks!
