This is a recipe passed along from my grandmother...not sure where she got it though. It's one of those dishes that you either love or hate. I love it!
- Layer onion slices, grated cheddar cheese and salt and pepper into prepared pie shell.
- Continue layering until pie is heaped up. Cover with pastry.
- Let cool slightly before slicing. Can be eaten warm or cold.
I loved this! this was so unique and I thought amazingly tasty, I cooked the onions a little first and baked it until the crust was beautiful and brown, really good I thought.
