This is a recipe passed along from my grandmother...not sure where she got it though. It's one of those dishes that you either love or hate. I love it!

Directions

  1. Layer onion slices, grated cheddar cheese and salt and pepper into prepared pie shell.
  2. Continue layering until pie is heaped up. Cover with pastry.
  3. Bake.
  4. Let cool slightly before slicing. Can be eaten warm or cold.

I loved this! this was so unique and I thought amazingly tasty, I cooked the onions a little first and baked it until the crust was beautiful and brown, really good I thought.
