These are an easy, no-bake recipe for cookies that will help use up the last of the Cheerios in the box. They are a great snack for kids that are hungry RIGHT NOW!! Mine gobble them up! I got this off the box of a Cheerios box several years ago. I use a large scoop to make the cookies and then flatten the balls with the back of a spoon. I used light corn syrup instead of dark and they are delicious!
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup karo dark corn syrup
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 2 1⁄2 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
- Mix sugar and syrup in saucepan and bring to a boil until it bubbles.
- Add peanut butter and stir.
- Stir in Cheerios.
- Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Do not bake.
I forgot to add my stars.
These are so-so. Easy to make and fine, but without a lot of taste. They also get really hard. That said, the kids liked them and they were done in a matter of minutes. Not sure I'd make them again, but it was good when I needed a fast lunch box addition.
My kids loved these. I loved them when they were 1st made but they got hard within a few hrs. They were still good but I like them soft.
