I made several changes, all of which I recommend, because the result is AMAZING! I used one cup of shredded Mexican cheese blend in place of the cheddar cheese, and added 2 tablespoons of melted butter to the dough mix, as well as some garlic salt and some sriracha hot sauce. After the biscuits were done, I patted on a tiny bit more melted butter, and then gave them another minute in the oven.
Note: for all of you convection oven folks, these were done after eight minutes in a 450 degree oven set to "convection bake". Another minute, and they would have burned for sure.
Wonderful biscuits!! I used extra old cheddar and may have used 1/4 cup more than specified but it worked out never-the-less. I used Bisquick Clone Bisquick Clone and will be making these again and again!
Thanks so much VickyJ. This was a quick and delicious way to make biscuits. I and the fam really enjoyed them. YUMMY.. one little change I had some minced garlic..i just used about 1/4 cup of them and they worked just as fine. THANKS.
Made these in memory of VickyJ. Awesome tasting biscuits and a recipe I"ll be making again!!!
5 stars all the way~
These were so easy to prepare, and they were so tasty. The biscuits stuck to my baking pan though, so I will lightly coat my baking sheet with Pam the next time I make these. And I sure plan to make these wonderful biscuits again! Made for VickyJ Cook-A-Thon.
Very good biscuits! I added chopped green onion to mine and they looked pretty and tasted great!
Unbelievably easy to make and even better tasting!!! My family could not get enough of these. Our son asked that I make these again tomorrow after just 3 bites! Thank you for such a great recipe!!!!!!!
Just love these biscuits...5 star all the way! I did reduce the recipe by half; it made 6 biscuits for me. Followed as directed, these are even better than the ones at RL. Thanks for sharing a lovely recipe, VickyJ. This was made in your honor...
Really tasty, pretty and fluffy. For whatever the reason I threw all the ingredients together (added the melted butter & garlic powder in the dry mix) . Baked @ 425?F in a convection oven for 7 mins. I successfully halved the recipe and made 7 medium sized biscuits. Served along side Chunky Beef Chili Cheese makes everything better, right VickyJ! Made for VickyJ Cook-A-Thon September, 2012. RIP lovely lady.
I made these for dinner tonight. It certainly won't be the last time. So easy to make & delicious is a great combo. I even had to have one as soon as they came out of the oven & even went back after dinner & I'm not even a big bread eater. Thanks for posting this.
