    My grandfather was in the nut business and this is the recipe that's been handed down -- it's better on the second day after it's chilled longer.

    Ingredients:

    Servings:

    Units: US | Metric

    • 2 cups crushed cashews
    • 1/2 cup crushed almonds
    • 1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts (which I leave out since I'm allergic)
    • 2 cups applesauce
    • 1/4 cup blackberry wine
    • 2 tablespoons cherry wine
    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla

    Directions:

      MIx all ingrediants together. Add more nuts/wine to taste (be careful tasting or you won't remember the seder -- :).

      It should look like paste when done and should not be liquidy -- it is to remember the mortar used to build the pyramids.
