This was so good! I've grown Swiss chard for a couple of years now and didn't really know what to do with it. Now I do! I added a little chopped onion but kept everything else the same. Delicious!
Oh, this was so yummy! I played around with the recipe some to suit our mood--I added a can of cooked black eyed peas, and since we wanted more "pot likker" I doubled the vinegar and added about 1/4 c stock. I served it over rice cooked in stock, and since I made it for the Veg Swap I used liquid smoke instead of bacon fat. I still followed the recipe directions as written, boiling the vinegar and sugar together then adding the greens. My entire family gobbled this up, all the way down to the 8 month old :). Thanks, CG! Made for Veg Swap 35.
Yummmmmm!! Made with home grown chard and a wonderful vadalia onion thrown in for good measure. Supper good over Sesame Orzo With Charred Onions with grilled meat on the side. Made for ZWT6 by a Looney Spoon Phoodie.
Very good! I bought some swiss chard yesterday...then searched and found your recipe! loved the dressing!! Thanks!
Good stuff! Followed all but added some minced garlic!
Excellent recipe! I used the last fresh chard from my garden...really enjoyed this. I'd never tried sweet and sour greens of any kind before, so I'm glad you shared this. I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks!
we made this but with some chopped onion too thanks for posting dee
