Celestial Cinnamon-Almond Apple Bites

My new favorite snack. Basically, this is heaven: "celestial" doesn’t even begin to describe it. Fresh apple wedges slathered in rich almond butter, sprinkled liberally with that spice of the gods, cinnamon. It’s all good for you--and it’s all so good. I say to you, fellow mortals, it was a blessed day when I stumbled upon this sublime flavor and texture combination. The components would travel well in a lunchbox, to be "assembled" on site -- for picnics, brunches, lunches, or anywhere you need a quick and delicious little something.

  1. Slice apple into 6-8 wedges.
  2. Spread one side of each wedge liberally with almond butter (more or less as you prefer).
  3. Sprinkle the almond butter lightly with cinnamon, pop the whole thing in yo’ mouth, and revel in the goodness. Repeat.
