Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 cup minced bacon (or enough bacon grease to fry onions and garlic)
  • 2 cups minced onions
  • 2 large garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 cups sliced okra
  • 2 lbs fresh tomatoes, cut finely (or canned tomatoes)
  • 1 lb crabmeat


  1. First, lightly brown onions and garlic. Then add flour, stir and add okra and about 1 quart of hot water. Pour into soup kettle. Add more water and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook gently until vegetables are done. Add one pound of crab meat and cook 20 minutes.
