This is a delicious cauliflower casserole with a creamy mustard sauce topped with Parmesan cheese and buttered bread crumbs. Yummy!

Directions

  1. Cook cauliflower in boiling water until crisp tender, about 6 minutes.
  2. Drain and transfer to a lightly buttered 1 1/2 quart baking dish.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter, whisk in flour and salt.
  4. Stir until bubbly, then gradually add milk, stirring constantly until thick and smooth, about 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in mustard and pour sauce over cauliflower in baking dish.
  6. Melt remaining butter, add bread crumbs and toss to coat.
  7. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over casserole, then top with buttered bread crumbs.
  8. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes or until bubbly and brown.

I made this for Easter. Ok. Not great. A little on the bland side.

I made this cauliflower on Christmas Day. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out perfectly. Everyone enjoyed it and I'll be making it again for sure. Thanks, Marie, for such a good recipe.

With all the great recipes for cauliflower on 'Zaar, I am really starting to come around. This was really good, but 3 tablespoons of butter for just 1/2 cup breadcrumbs was too much. Next time, I will try it without the topping and double the cheese. Thanks for the posting!
