Cassis Champagne Cocktail

"Cassis is a blackcurrant-flavoured liqueur. The sugar cubes really are personal preference. Some people may not like the sweetness of the sugar."

  1. Good Champagne drink! Celebrating the birth of my 9th grandchild, I decided to try a couple of different champagne drinks. I love the taste of cassis and it worked well with the champagne. I couldn't believe how many more bubbles you get with a sugar cube!!! Thanks Jewelies.

  2. Yum, I love the flavour the cassis gives the champagne. I cut this down to serve one & left out the sugar. Will make this again, thanks. Made for ZWT III.

  3. Love champagne and this is a great way to serve it! I made these for myself and a freind this evening, and we both enjoyed them (a couple!!). We had them without the sugar cube and used an extra dry champagne. Fun ~ we will definitely make these again!!! ZWT3

  4. Liked it! The champagne was one of several tiny bottles we were given in a gift basket and we not being real champagne drinkers, they have been pushed to the back of the shelf. Now was the time to bring them out and gave something new a go. I found this to be really fizzy, the taste was fine, but there were too many bubbles for my taste. Maybe it's just becuase champagne isn't in my top 10 drinks, so I credit that entirely to personal preference. I used a tiny amount of sugar and it still seemed to be rather sweet. Please see my rating system: 3 stars for a drink that I was delighted to have tried but that hasn't converted me into a true champagne fan yet. Thanks!
