Ooey-gooey yumminess in this easy-to-make chocolate, caramel oatmeal bar. Everyone requests this recipe, so I finally decided to post it to make it easier to share. Enjoy!

  1. Melt the butter.
  2. Mix together the flour, oats, sugar, baking soda and salt with the melted butter, using an electric mixer.
  3. Press 3 cups of the mixture in a greased 9x13 pan.
  4. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, melt the caramels in the milk, either in the microwave or over low heat. Stirring often.
  6. Remove the hot crust from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  7. Drizzle caramel mixture over this.
  8. Sprinkle remainder of crumbs on top and press in slightly.
  9. Bake 15 minutes more at 350. Do not over bake.
  10. Let cool for 20 minutes, then CUT WHILE WARM (this is very important!).
  11. Store in a tightly closed container.
