From the 'City Times' newspaper.
- 400 g yogurt
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 cardamoms
- 50 g almonds, chopped and skinned
- 2 lemons
- 5 cups water
- 1 pinch salt
- In a blender bowl, put half cup of water, yogurt, sugar, cardamom, almonds and salt.
- Blend thoroughly.
- Add the remaining water and lemon juice.
- Blend again.
- Serve chilled.
I love a nice sweet lassi, love cardamom and when I saw this contained almonds, I knew I would be trying this out. I used ground almonds as I have plenty of that and it worked well. Excellent way of sneaking almonds into the diet. I used lime instead of lemon which also worked well. A very nice variation on the lassi theme.
This is wonderful. Lassi is a genius beverage, and very versatile.
