This recipe comes from Heather Carlucci-Rodriguez, who opened a tiny shop in Manhattan called Lassi, selling especially fresh and vibrant version of classic Punjabi dishes.
- Spoon the yogurt into a blender. Add 6 tbls. of the sugar to the yogurt. Add ice and cardamom and blend until the yogurt mixture is smooth and frothy. Add up to 2 more tbls. of sugar if you want a sweeter drink. Pour into tall galsses and serve cold. Enjoy!
I love this recipe! I've made it at least once a day for the past three days. It's definitely my new favorite way to get my calcium. I'm going to start playing around with it to see if it's still good with a little less sugar in it, to make it even healthier. Thank you for sharing this! It has been a challenge to eat enough calcium during my pregnancy, so this recipe has been especially helpful!
I love cardomom, and this cool, creamy drink is a great way to enjoy it. I made it with non-fat yogurt and splenda to make reduce the calories a bit. Good thing it works. I'll be drinking a lot this. Thanks!
I made this for breakfast today and am surprised to not see anyone else mention how impossible it was to blend this drink together without any liquid?? I had to add about 1/4 cup of milk, if not a touch more just to get it to blend. Once I did that, it was an actual drink. Very tasty. 3 stars for prep, 5 for taste. Thanks for sharing. Will do again!
