Simple and Easy to make!! Delicious with ice-cream!!
- 354.88 ml brown sugar, packed
- 59.16 ml flour
- 236.59 ml boiling water
- 0.25 ml salt
- 29.58 ml butter
- 29.58 ml heavy cream
- Mix sugar with flour in saucepan; blend well.
- Add water and salt.
- Stir while cooking for 6 to 8 minutes.
- If too thick add a little more water.
- Remove from heat; stir in butter, cream and vanilla to taste.
This was good but not quite as rich as some of the other caramel sauces I've tried. Thanks for posting!
On 6/14/07 I made Apple Spice Cake and I didn't have any ice cream topping.So,remembering seeing the photo of this recipe,I decided to try it.And OMGoodness !!!! I'm so glad I did.:)As I was stirring this, I realized it was going to be way too thin. I added a little bit of cornstarch with some water, mixed it in with the caramel sauce and it worked just fine.Didn't havethe cream ,so I used the same amount of milk.The taste was of the sauce was just so rich and creamy. This is one of those recipes which make you close your eyes and savour the moment. You want to serve this recipe cold so it is nice and thick. I didn't read the recipe carefully and used cold water, I don't think it would make a difference in the end. Thanks for posting Boyz5, looking forward to trying out more of your recipes !!
