  1. Inez, this is the BEST way to enjoy caramel apples!!! Very easy and just as delicious. Actually, easier to eat this way, too. I was afraid the apples might start to get brown but they were perfect. Guess the caramel coating saved them.

  2. This was a superb dessert. My hubby and I devoured it! My son was a little skepticle, but he finally liked it once we showed him. (He has never had caramel apples before!) THanks!

  3. Yummy! DH and I preferred it as written. My 2 DDs preferred it with a few semi-sweet choc morsels added in. Delicious both ways!

  4. Just the thing when craving caramel apples and I don't want to mess with traditional ones on a stick. They are also easier to eat. I cut the recipe in half since it was just the kids and I eating them. I used the microwave to melt the caramel and it took less than 30 seconds. Talk about a fast treat! This recipe deserves a LOT more attention and reviews!! Thanks so much for sharing it. :)

  5. This rocks. It affirms my conviction that the best things are the simple ones. What an easy recipe to make for 1 or 2 or a crowd, and healthy (with the raw apples). I had about 15 OLD, rock-hard caramels and a bunch of apples on the verge of hitting the compost pile. Chop, chop and melt, melt...voila! It was so yummy. Even though a couple servings sat for a few hours (everyone was too full), the caramel didn't harden back up like I had feared. Thanks for such a simple, great idea!

  1. Quick, simple & yummy! Instead of water, I used heavy cream and threw in a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips. What a yummy addition. Next time I might try it with some chopped pecans thrown in. Thanks for sharing.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
