My version of a recipe I found online (I added the Captain part). You can substitute margarine for the butter. It is easy to make even better to eat with some vanilla ice cream! Enjoy.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine berries, sugar, 1/4 cup of flour and spiced rum in a bowl - toss until well blended.
  3. Transfer berry mixture to a greased 9 inch square baking dish.
  4. Combine remaining 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl.
  5. Add butter, rubbing in with fingers until topping holds together in small moist clumps.
  6. Sprinkle topping evenly over berry mixture in baking dish.
  7. Bake until berry mixture bubbles thickly and topping is golden brown (about 1 hour).
  8. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream topping.
