Pat the fish dry before dipping in batter it will coat better....also 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda will make the coating crispy/crunchy.....

Nothing like Captain D's- batter was NOT crisp and was very bland. My husband loves Captain D's fish, but he didn't like this.
