I wish I had planned differently for serving this dish. I was using it as a side to a shrimp/pasta dish but after tasting it as it marinates I would love to have made this the main dish served over pasta! It's fabulous. The flavors all marry together perfectly and accentuate one another. If you like caprese salad...you'll ADORE this! No cheese necessary. These tomatoes in this seasoning do it all. Fresh bread for dipping is a must because I couldn't bear to let this marinade go to waste. I will probably use the leftover marinade to make more of these tomatoes for tomorrow. I'm serving this as a side to grilled shrimp over pasta. Just superb! I highly recommend and will definitely make this weekly from here on out. Thank you for a true winner!
WONDERFUL!! this would be great along some steaks! I tried it with that corned beef recipe and it was a nice combination. I usually don't eat tomatoes- but had some that needed using up. I will definately try these again
A-MAZ-ING! This had an incredible flavor. We served ours over bruschetta with a little shredded mozzarella on top. We recently returned from a trip to Italy, and this rivaled the flavor we sampled there. Fantastic recipe! We ended up skipping desserts for seconds on this!
even my hubby who doesn't like tomatoes rated these a 5!
If we can eat tomatoes and basil without mozzarella and not miss it, it's a great recipe! I used dried basil and I'm not sure why because I have a garden full of fresh basil...I just spaced on that one I guess. I added a dash of balsamic vinegar and let these sit for about 7 hours so I had plenty of juice...even soaked it up with a baguette.
I added in some thin slices of onion, fresh mozzarella slices and used basil in ours. Great addition to the dinner table anytime!
This is fabulous! I did make a couple of additions - small, fresh mozzarella balls, freshly ground black pepper and a dash of balsamic vinegar - but I know that even without my additions, this is a top notch recipe. Thanks for posting! I'm having a party in two weeks and this is definitely on my party menu.
yum, yum and yum!! Even my non-tomato eating kid ate a slice and liked it! Another make ahead...oh and next time I have a nice loaf of crusty bread...I'm using it to top it. Hmm,could I make this with tonights dinner??
Great flavor! I made it to put on top of pizza, it was better than the pizza sauce.
Simple and delicious! I added half a red onion (sliced fine) and realised I bought parsley, so I used that in stead of the basil. I loved dipped bread into the "marinade". Thanks for posting!!
