I have to admit I was skeptical about the combination of banana and cantaloupe, but I had some of each I needed to use up, so I gave it a shot, and I LOVED IT! I used "regular" milk instead of powdered, and skipped the orange juice & honey. Thanks so much!
Ohh.. this is tropical balmy island quality. Dry milk powder isn't used in our home; oats were used instead.
I have been making this smoothy on and off for about 10 years and have found it to be one of the best. I add about 1/4 teaspoon of ginger to mine.
For some reason this just didn't work out. The taste was fantastic, the texture creamy and smooth. More banana flavor than cantaloupe somehow, but then after just a few minutes it began to curdle big time.
Love cantaloupe and banana and this smoothie fully lived up to my expectations: just delicious. I didn’t freeze the banana (simply forgot!) and I used ½ a cantaloupe and my favourite creamy Greek yoghurt (so my smoothie wasn’t quite as healthy as the one in the recipe but it was yummy!). I also used orange juice as I’ve never bought orange juice concentrate and I added a tablespoon of flaxseed meal. Thank you for sharing this recipe, Mirj. I love making smoothies, and just love them for breakfasts and snacks so I’ll be making this recipe again during our summer.
