Totally official tasting, and that's without the clove oil, which I didn't have. Just the sugar, water and corn syrup do the job and such a great red color. Thanks Sue.
What a fun recipe to make! I didn't use the clove oil. We poured the leftovers onto a baking sheet as suggested, but before it totally cooled and hardened we experimented with pulling and stretching it into interesting shapes (this was even more fun than swirling the apples).
