Simple candied yams
- 1 (29 ounce) can sweet potatoes
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup miniature marshmallow
- Drain 1/2 of the juice from the can of sweet potatoes. Place in a casserole dish. Dot with butter. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle on top. Add cover top with marshmallows. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes at 325°F.
I've had these lots of times, but never made them myself. This recipe is exactly what I wanted. Tastes great and is very simple. Comfort Food at it's finest! Thanks for the recipe!
Simple and delicious, all wrapped up in one of my all-time favorite side dishes. I drained the can completely and chose not to use the water as directed. (it makes its own candied syrup). I added a dash of nutmeg and vanilla and it came out great! Thanks for sharing!
I grew some sweet potatoes in my garden this year, this recipe was great for them.
