You can top anything from a salad to ice cream with these or just eat them as is. These I made for Heathers Sweet Potato Roasted Whole Sweet Potatoes With Maple Ginger Topping. Check it out it's yummy!

  1. In a heavy bottom pan heat to medium high heat.
  2. Place nuts and butter, when butter is melted and nuts are coated with the butter sprinkle sugar and cinnamon if wanted over nuts stirring till carmelized.
  3. Pour out on parchment paper separate nuts and cool.

These are great for a quick sugar hit to a weeknight salad, since it doesn't involve a lot of time or advance preparation. I served them in a salad with brie and apples - yum. I used brown sugar and cinnamon.

These were good but not sweet enough. I added some brown sugar to sweeten it up some and they were still in need of some sugar. These nuts have a lot of potential!

I'm very pleased with this recipe. I've always kind of passed over recipes calling for these thinking it would be rather difficult to get a good result. Easy and wonderful. I used them in a salad Just Like Dewey's Candied Walnut and Grape Salad and they and the salad were delicious. One slight change I will make when I do them again is to add a tiny bit of salt.
