I can't talk for any Canadian firefighters, but we thought that this meatloaf was awesome!
Like Teresa, mine didn't hold together too well, but who cares, it tasted wonderful, and the entire family ( especially the 6 and 4 year olds) virtually inhaled it, and told me that I could make it again!!
Easy to prepare with wonderful flavours..we loved it!
A definite keeper for me.
Made as a big THANK YOU for Syd for being the HOST WITH THE MOST in PRMR..x
Great meatloaf, Syd! We enjoyed this a lot...I reduced the salsa to 1/2 cup because the mixture was quite wet, but the taste was fabulous! I followed this exactly except for the reduction of salsa. I always put an extra piece of bread under the meatloaf (on the bottom of the baking dish) to catch the extra fat. Thanks Syd for making our Saturday lunch spectacular!
This was just great! I am low carbing so I cut back to 1 slice of bread and added an extra egg. I also used dehydrated onions because I was in a hurry. After letting it stand for 20 minutes it sliced very nicely and held together just fine! Thanks Sydney Mike...from Toronto Vi!
This is the best meat loaf recipe we've eaten. A few changes due to availability. Mince was around 680gm, sauce topper was ketchup, salsa was replaced with 200gm hot taco sauce and I added two eggs (due to the reduced meat amount). YUM! Served with mash and corn cobs. Thanks Sydney Mike.
Excellent for a good fill up
We enjoyed the flavor, although my meatloaf didn't hold together very well. Maybe I should have let it sit for a while. I did notice that there wasn't any egg added to the ingredients to bind them. So I guess the salsa was to do that. I use the same bread in water technique when I make German hamburgers. Overall a great dish. Thanks for posting. :)
Very good meatloaf. I used a ciabatta bread instead of whole-wheat. We liked the bbq sauce on top. It added so much flavor. And the salsa is a great addition. Thanks Sydney Mike :) Made for Holiday tag game
Well Syd, I'm neither a Canadian OR a firefighter, but I loved this meatloaf. It was moist, but firm to cut and the flavour was great. I can't wait for cold leftovers for my lunch tomorrow. Thanks for posting.
I am no firefighter, but I am a Canadian and I loved this meatloaf! The taste was terrific and it was very moist and easy to make. We had this with broccoli and cheese and corn casserole. I made half of this for 4 of use, but I think I should have made the full amount! Made for Went to the Market tag. Thanks Syndney Mike! :)
