Thank you, Runnergirl19, for sharing this little gem. We have been making these delightful little pies in my family for at least 40 years or more. They are enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Another name for the sandwich maker is called a 'Pie Iron' [available in round or square in shape] and usually made from either aluminum or cast iron. Savory fillings like Sloppy Joe mix is another tasty alternative to a sweet pie. One can also use refrigerated biscuits or Burrito Size Tortillas in place of bread. Possibilities are no further then your imagination. The pie iron can go beyond the campfire. Works great on your charcoal or gas grill, wood stove or your conventional oven.
