This came out of the Real Simple May 2008 issue. I can't wait to try it this summer!!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 2 tablespoons popcorn
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Directions

  1. Place popcorn kernels and oil in and 18-inch square of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Seal the edges to form a loose pouch, leaving room for the kernels to pop. Tie a corner of the pouch to a stick with a piece of string. Shake over a fire until popped.

My daughter wanted to have a weenie roast for her birthday, and I thought this recipe would be a fun add-on. However, it didn't work. Only a few kernels in two of the pouches popped. In the remaining pouches, no activity at all. The kids were initially excited, but ultimately frustrated and disappointed.
