Followed the recipe to a t-except instead of blender, I used my blender stick wand and pureed it right in the pot. AMAZING-using it in place of campbells and loving it!!! Can't tell a difference when substituting this with campbell's in recipes!!!
Sandy, Thanks for telling me about this at the farmer's market in Muncie. I found your posting, made it and my family loves it. It worked great, the directions were not changed at all and your right it taste just like Campbell Soup.
Sandy, This is great. We love soup and toasted cheese sandwiches when the temperature dips into the 30's. We enjoyed this delightful recipe. Thank you for posting. What comfort food! YUM
Holy Moly! This was just what I was looking for and the taste hits the spot. How much easier could you make it and still have it taste like a little slice of tomato heaven. I have to admit that I did add some basil, fennel, and just 3 whole cloves. MMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!
I can't wait to try this recipe! I'm cooking the tomatoes right now, and realize that head-space requirement for canning is not specified. Would 1 inch be right? I'm also wondering if you put lemon juice in the canning jar? (I've canned tomatoes, pizza sauce, etc. for years, and all of my tomato recipes require some lemon juice in the jar.) Thank you!!
A big thumbs up for this tomato soup! I'll be making more of this, not to can, just to eat.
More cost effective than store bought--without the MSG. This is a Win Win.
This is a GREAT recipe!!! WE had a ton of tomatos last year and my family loves tomato soup - and they love this soup! It does take a LONG time to get through the foam part - but it is worth it.
thanks for posting such a great recipe!!!
