directions

  • Thaw bread dough.
  • Peel and shred garlic cloves and put them in a medium sauce pan with a lid. Add oil and turn to medium heat.
  • When garlic is a golden brown, add sauce and paste. Stir well, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer while you work on the rest of this.
  • Crisco up two large pizza pans. Spread the dough out on each of them.
  • On half of each, add your cheese and pepperoni and anything else. Don't go overboard, as it can explode out when you slice it and be a hot cheesy mess.
  • Fold the blank half over the toppings and twist the edges to keep everything inches.
  • Preheat oven to 450. I do these one at a time to ensure proper cooking times on both.
  • Put one in for six minutes, flip, then put it in for another 4-5 minutes. Do the same with the other calzone.
  • Add spices to your sauce. Keep adding until it tastes awesome-- don't be afraid to taste-test!
  • Slice calzones up like pizza sticks and dip them in sauce. Epic.
