This recipe came from my Uncle. He baked it for us in his bread maker when we were visiting in Chula Vista and we fell in love!
- 1 1⁄2 cups milk, plus
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons yeast
- Put each ingredient in bread maker as listed.
- When adding yeast besure it doesnt touch the milk.
- Bake as you would any bread maker bread.
- I use the 2# setting and light crust.
This is a great recipe - makes a big, tall loaf, but it isn't too fluffy - has a good flavor and texture. This will be my new white bread recipe - thanks so much.
This bread was absolutely wonderful and so easy to make. I was really skeptical at first. I thought that maybe this recipe asked for too much flour but the results were outstanding. We ate the whole entire loaf lastnight with real butter. Man, I cannot wait to make this recipe again. Thank you so much!
