This is a wonderful, flavorful recipe that was absolutely delightful! I did not use the overnight soaking method for the beans (because I forgot) and made this recipe exactly as posted, using chorizo, salt pork, white turnips, turnip greens, and savoy cabbage. The flavors worked together perfectly and the result was so nourishing and satisfying. This made a great main dish that I look forward to making again! Made for ZWT8.

We thoroughly enjoyed this delicious soup. I could not find Spanish chorizo so I did substitute hot Italian sausage and spinach vs. the turnip greens. Loved the flavor and the spice - will definitely make this soup again! Made for the 1-2-3 Tag, July, 2012.

To me, this is OMG delicious! My DH didn't care for it as he would have preferred potatoes to rutabagas. Which reminds me; I sent DH to the store for turnips and the produce guy said that rutabagas are the same thing! Don't get me started! I dare you to tell that to a turnip! :( I must admit that the large rutabaga he came home with worked quite well. For the beans I used the cooking method as opposed to the soak overnight method; will try that since soaking is much cheaper than simmering! :) Thanks, breezermom, for a new favorite! This is going into my Best of 2012 Cookbook!
