I got this from Country Woman magazine(May/June 2004). It was submitted by Mildred McWilliams from Covington, Georgia! So easy! I have directions on how to make your own self rising flour.

Ingredients Nutrition

Directions

  1. Place the blueberries in a greased 8" square baking dish. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, milk and butter till smooth. Pour over the blueberries. Bake at 375*F. for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Enjoy!
  2. Note:.
  3. If you don't have self rising flour, here is a substitute for 1 cup.
  4. Place 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a measuring cup. Add all purpose flour to measure 1 cup.

This is a wonderfully quick dessert. The prepation time is minimal. I melted the butter in a medium glass mixing bowl in the microwave, added the remaining ingredients and poured over the berries. I did use frozen blueberries and a 1/2 Splenda 1/2 sugar combination. This was served with your Recipe #198341 for a wonderful Super Bowl party dessert.

Loved as written when made the first time, but wanted more blueberries so I used 3.5 cups blueberries, increased the milk and sugar to 1c. each and added 1 t. vanilla flavoring. Perfect. Made many times now.

I have made this twice. I didn't use self rising and this is a MUST it tasted ok but had an odd texture if you use all purpose. The second time I used self rising sooo much better. Easy and yummy thanks.
